Looking for something different to spice up your dining day to day? Tired of Thai, sullen on sushi or bored of burgers? What about Bosnian – I’d wager it’s a cuisine still completely unknown to most people.
Old Bridge Cafe in South Salt Lake offers a great opportunity to get to grips with Bosnian food – operating from a comfortable, relaxed restaurant space and fronted by a charming, friendly owner/operator couple. If you’ve any questions on the cuisine or their home country and town – they’re always only too eager to help.
Cevapi ($8/10pcs, $6/5pcs, pictured above) is a traditional Bosnian dish – and one that most folks will instantly feel at home with. The dish comprises juicy beef sausages served in pita bread. Proceedings are livened up with creamy kajmak (cheese spread), ajvar (relish, made principally from red bell peppers, with garlic), onions and tomato.
