Yes you can get a drink in Utah! And if you happen to be in Salt Lake City International Airport you can get one from 8am – earlier than anywhere else in town. At Vino Volo – between concourses D and E – you will find an iteration of the Vino Volo chain, which you will find at several airports around the US. The difference at SLC is you will also find lots of fine beer too – most from local SLC draft brewers. This makes it unique amongst a brand that only serves wine elsewhere.
While you’re quaffing away waiting for your flight – you can sample from a broad menu taking in everything from hummus to buffalo wings to lasagna. Pictured here is the Cured Meats Plate ($14 full order) and – in honor of the flight I was about to enjoy – a wine flight. The Vibrant Rioja flght ($16) included Graciano, Tempranillo and Viura, with suitable tasting notes.
Stale coffee, greasy fast food, and a subsequent bad attitude needn’t be your dining buddies when in the SLC airport. Find a full menu for Vino Volo Ale House here.
